Reception staff
Elaine Larcombe
Elaine has been with
Moorcroft longer than any other staff member. She began
her work here straight from school in 1973 when the
practice was known as 'Clarke Williams and Ball'. Her
role at the time involved everything from reception to
animal care and nursing. As veterinary nursing evolved
she turned more and more to the front desk and working
with clients and patients.
When I asked what she enjoys
about the job she was worried the answer would sound
too cheesy but I thought it was too good
to leave out: Elaine gets to go to work and feels that
what she is doing is worth while. I don't think that's
too cheesy, do you?
In her own time Miss
Larcombe fits a huge amount of friends into her life and
loves nothing more than a good festival, be it
Glastonbury or Larmer Tree!
Francine Ingram
Having joined the team in
April '05, Francine has become a familiar face within
the practice. She feels that being passionate about animals and
getting to work with an excellent team of staff, makes a
demanding job worth while. Her responsibilities include
medicine and clinical stock management and she is
currently studying for her Animal Nursing Assistant
certificate with a view to training as a veterinary
nurse.
Residing in central
Weymouth,
Francine regularly cycles to work; fair weather only!
Her free time is spent with
the family and their pets. Cat crazy, she has 3 of them
and would love to have
her own cattery some day.
Kirsty Upward
Kirsty joined our
practice in July 2006. Since then she has developed a
keen interest in nursing in-patients and assisting in the
operating theatre and hopes to become a qualified
veterinary nurse in the near future. She is currently
studying with Franscine towards her Animal Nursing
Assistant certificate.
She is a keen equestrian
and has been riding from a very young age.
At home on Portland she has 2 cats, Murphy and Caffrey,
and a tank full of tropical fish. Her spare time
is spent planning her forthcoming wedding, and at the
gym slimming down to fit into her dress!
Nicky Johnson
&
Marion Munro
These 2 lovely ladies are
our main Portland receptionists. They both joined the
practice in 2007 and have settled in very nicely and I'm
sure if you are Portland clients you will already be
getting to know them well.
Sarah Crew
Sarah is our latest team
edition, she is studying for her Basic Animal Care
Apprenticeship at Kingston Maurward College, working
with us for 4 days of the week with one day a week at
the college. She mainly
helps with the day to day tasks of the practice but is
gently being introduced into the reception side and
clinical work and is proving to be a great asset. She is
a hard worker, keen to be
involved and quick to learn. A pleasure to work with.
