About Moorcroft Veterinary Practice
We are a dedicated small
animal practice in the heart of Weymouth, with our
branch practice in central Portland.
Our Aim...
Simple.
To provide you with up to date, practical and efficient
health care for your furry and feathered loved ones. We
want you to know that whatever your concern, small
niggle or urgent illness, our staff are available and
ready to help. We all have family members who walk on
all fours or fly, we know how we'd feel in your shoes,
and we know what care we'd expect our pets to receive.
This is what we aim to deliver.
Our Staff
and facilities...
We
have three full time Vets and one part time Vet. Our
main premises, Weymouth, is run by our practice managers,
2 qualified Veterinary nurses and our wonderful
reception staff. We have consulting and operating rooms
here, fully equipped with everything from x-ray machine
and ultrasound to ECG monitoring and pulse oximetry. We
have an in house lab for blood testing and cytology
and parasitology. Our facilities for housing your pet
are modern, clean and comfortable, and our staff are
always keen to give lots of TLC as well as the proper
clinical care, giving them as stress free a stay as we
can.
The Weymouth
practice is easy to get to and has parking on the
forecourt. Our Portland branch is attended by all three
full time vets and 3 reception staff. It has ideal
consulting facilities however all operations take place
at the
Weymouth premises.
How to get
in Contact...
As you
can see from the practice opening hours listed to the
right Weymouth surgery is open most of the day. You are
most welcome to come in or phone to ask advice from the
reception staff and/or book appointments at any time
during this period.
The
Portland branch surgery is only open Monday to Saturday
from 9am until at least 10.30, but may stay open until
midday if appointments fill up. It is also open from
4-6pm on a Monday and Wednesday. When it is open you can
phone the Portland number or visit the practice for
advice/appointments. If it is closed the staff at
Weymouth will be happy to book you an appointment there
or give appropriate advice.
Out of
Hours Emergency Advice...
From 7pm
to 8am Monday to Friday and from 1pm Saturday to 8am
Monday morning we operate an emergency out of hours
service. You will be seen by Moorcroft Vets, not an
outside agency. This is what you need to do if you need
emergency help:
CALL
01305 776686 and have a pen and paper
at the ready.
You
will reach our answer phone message which will give you
the 'on call' vets mobile phone number.
We are
available for emergencies whenever you need us.
Occasionally the vet may not answer, they may already be
with a client (and of course they have been known to
need a shower or the use of a toilet). In this case
please leave your name and phone number clearly.
They should contact you within 10 minutes. If
they do not, CALL THEM AGAIN! Your message may not have
been clear enough for them to be able to call you
back...
